This new DVD-ROM edition of Turtles of the World is an updated and extended version of Ernst and Barbour's standard book "Turtles of the World" (1989). It features over 1400 colour photographs of essentially every recognized species of turtle and tortoise in the world and an interactive geographic information system. About 40 new species were added compared to the book and the taxonomy was completely revised up to December 1997.
